BALWADI

Balwadi Programme

In the annual Balwadi classes, students are given a weekly opportunity to teach, engage with, and learn from underprivileged children from the neighbouring village community. They get to interact with these children in groups, wherein each group worked on a particular skill. There are sessions on art, drama, dance, sports, and more.

The programme culminates with a capstone project which includes performances by the children in the school assembly.

Balwadi Fun Day

The Balwadi Fun Day is a day-long carnival event organised in school, where underprivileged children from the neighbouring village get an opportunity to break away from their daily lives. Students set up stalls, created games, organised bake sales, conducted competitions, and more.

Balwadi Fundraiser: Movie Night

The Fun Night is a fundraiser event organised in school, where there are movies screened with a paid audience. There is collaboration amongst students to organise logistics, conduct social media and door-to-door marketing, sell tickets, manage finances, as well as buy and collect food and beverages for the event. All the funds from bought tickets and food are collected for the Balwadi programme: for the teaching and upliftment of underprivileged children from the neighbouring village.
