JOY OF GIVING

Diya.png

“We see that giving of ourselves to others not only blesses them but blesses and liberates our souls, as well.”

Maya Angelou

On the Festival of Lights, Ramites brightened up the lives of others around them, celebrating the joy of giving through a unique programme, ‘Diwali Saath Wali’. Students made this festival joyful for those in their immediate circle, by undertaking many of the activities suggested below.

  • Bake cakes, cookies and biscuits, other goodies and share them with the guards in the compound.

  • Run a drive for collecting woollens, sweaters, blankets, quilts in their society and donate them to residents of nearby villages.

  • Get masks stitched from ‘around the corner’ tailors and distribute these to the staff within the society.

  • Buy diyas from the roadside vendors and distribute them to the underprivileged and spread the Diwali light.

  • Run a cleanliness drive in their society and immediate surroundings, strictly following safety protocols including wearing masks and maintaining proper social distancing norms.

  • Any other deed of kindness you can think of that will bring a smile to someone’s face.
