SOCIALLY USEFUL PRODUCTIVE WORK

The SUPW Trip

The SUPW trip is an annual excursion to camps in the interiors of India. The trip encompasses over 120 students in groups undertaking several community service projects for the development of villages and the welfare of the people in the region.

Projects include:

  • Building durable poly-houses for shelter

  • Building guarding shelters in valleys for gatekeepers of the villages

  • Cleaning, renovating and rebuilding the village water tanks

  • Building local roads and pathways

  • Aiding in construction of the village institutions and primary schools

  • Cutting and mowing weeds, grasses and unwanted bushes to create space.

This involves a range of tasks, activities, and skills, from team-building to hardcore manual labour. Also organised are treks, mountain hikes, and other strenuous activities involving physical exercise and exertion.
